Zhaohui (Zoe) Li
Ms. Li is the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Partner of Acela Capital. She leads the firm’s strategic development. Ms. Li has extensive experience in capital management with expertise in fixed income investing. She has more than 15 years of work experience in leading global financial institutions, including Morgan Stanley, Bank of America, and Investment Bank of China, an agent bank of the World Bank.
Previously, Ms. Li led a wealth management team at Morgan Stanley, where she oversaw client relationships and portfolio management. Ms. Li’s clients included successful entrepreneurs, corporate executives, businesses owners, and high-tech professionals. Prior to Morgan Stanley, Ms. Li co-managed an over $2 billion corporate bond portfolio at Bank of America.
Ms. Li obtained an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and a M.S. in accounting from the University of Alabama. She graduated cum laude from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics with a B.A. in Capital Investment Management. Ms. Li also studied at Tongji University in Shanghai, China.
Ms. Li is fluent in both Mandarin and English. She and her husband live in the San Francisco bay area of California with their twin daughters. Outside work, Ms. Li enjoys her family, friends, traveling, reading, and swimming.
Zhaozhu Ge, Ph.D.
Dr. Ge is the Chief Investment Officer and a Managing Partner of Acela Capital. He is in charge of the firm’s investment strategies and day-to-day portfolio management.
Prior to co-founding Acela Capital, Dr. Ge managed investment portfolios for high net-worth individuals and corporate clients at Morgan Stanley. He has extensive knowledge and experiences in investment analysis, portfolio construction and management, concentrated position hedging and risk management.
Previously, Dr. Ge worked in the high tech industry and managed million dollar IT projects. He was once a researcher in the Physical Science Division at Bell Labs and developed novel instruments to detect nanometer size particles in the semiconductor reaction chambers.
Dr. Ge graduated from Tsinghua University in Beijing, China and earned an M.B.A. from Stern School of Business, New York University. He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering and M.S. in Computer Science, both from the University of Delaware. He is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, the international business honors society. Dr. Ge volunteers at the Silicon Valley Tsinghua Network, the largest overseas Tsinghua University alumni organization.
